I went with my mom to see "Cinderella" at the movies today.  It was really good!  Better than "Maleficent" and a little better than the 1950 animated "Cinderella" film.  While I won't give out any spoilers, I will say that this version does answer some questions that were omitted from the original, such as "why doesn't Cinderella just leave her house instead of putting up with her step-families' abuse?"  Also, the characters are more fleshed out.  The prince (who actually has a real name in this adaptation), who is played by Richard Madden -- aka Robb Stark from "Game of Thrones" -- was probably the most developed and doesn't just fall in love with Ella on first sight.  Best of all, everyone gave a believable performance, especially the Step Mother, played by Cate Blanchett.  On a finale note, the transformation of Cinderella's torn pink dress to a beautiful blue ballgown is a sequence that Walt Disney himself would be proud of.

My final thoughts : This is movie I definitely recommended.  There's no 3D release of it, but it doesn't need one.  A standard screen viewing is worth more than the price of admission, and that's saying a lot with the price of movie tickets today.
